Welcome baby Josie!

I love newborn photography. It takes a bit longer than normal sessions, but what can you expect from someone who needs to eat and sleep every 2 hours?

If you have a babe on the way, here are some things to remember when scheduling your session:

1.It's best to schedule baby's session when she is 1-3 weeks old. She will still have all her cute newborn features and any swelling will be gone.

2. Don't worry if baby has jaundice, acne or any other skin discoloration. I use software to edit the skin to be smooth and even. If you use a different photographer, make sure they do this!

3. Set aside at least 2 hours for the session. Newborns need time to eat and cuddle. I do not set a time limit on these sessions (or any session, actually), we shoot until we have all the images we want. 2 hours is average.

Now it's time to see baby Josie!
She is SO tiny and precious, see for yourself:

Andrea and Bernardo

Here are a few more from the session I did with Andrea and Bernardo.

This is one of the longest sessions I have ever done! We covered 4 different locations and took 2 days to get all the shots.

It was well worth it. They have such a variety of images, I can't wait to give them their CD tomorrow!

Ever Heard of Belly Painting?

I hadn't! What is it you are wondering?

If you are pregnant and want to do something fun and memorable with your baby-belly, you can hire Michelle from Unforgettable Evenings to use your belly as a canvas. Michelle also does face painting for parties and events. You may have seen her at Wingers or Applebees during family night!

Belly painting makes for an interesting addition to your classic maternity shoot! Ask me for more details if you are interested in adding this to your maternity session.
